SFBC&TS’s ministry and leadership program prepares students to excel as they lead with care, vision, and humility. Courses place emphasis on personal integrity, business acumen, and leadership techniques. Our graduates walk away equipped to provide organizations with intentionality and direction. Whether you work for a law firm or a mission organization, we have a leadership degree that will give you the edge you need to effectively manage in your field.

Goals

Upon completion of the Bachelor of Arts in Ministry & Leadership program, the graduate should be able to:

  1. Demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills;
  2. Develop analytical reasoning and problem solving skills;
  3. Comprehend basic psychological theories and principles;
  4. Examine major world religions from a Christian context;
  5. Understand and explain how the humanities influence the societies and culture;
  6. Grasp the fundamental concepts of philosophy and science to explain how various theistic and non-theistic ideologies affect the Christian perspective;
  7. Demonstrate an understanding of the Biblical Worldview in general studies;
  8. Identify and understand the history and content of the Bible;
  9. Demonstrate an understanding of the fundamentals of Christian doctrine and theology;
  10. Understand the challenges, objections, and alternatives to the Christian faith;
  11. Exhibit the ability to clearly communicate the gospel in local and global settings;
  12. Understand and articulate the biblical theology of ministry;
  13. Develop and mature in their spiritual formation and Christian character;
  14. Develop and practice a biblical leadership style and expand skills and knowledge coursework;
  15. Prepare and present a theologically informed effective contextual preaching, teaching, and small group discussion;
  16. Identify and promote culturally relevant evangelism and discipleship models;
  17. Execute and manage ministries to carry out the Great Commission;
  18. Understand the challenges, objections, and alternatives to the Christian faith and have winsomely effective answers to the questions posed by an unbelieving society;
  19. Demonstrate an understanding of the Biblical worldview as it relates to Ministry and Missions; and
  20. Apply the Bible using sound exegetical, and hermeneutical methods.

  • Family Ministries
    • Family Ministries is designed to equip you to navigate the unique leadership challenges that come with ministering to minors. An emphasis will be placed on creating safe environments across ministry programs, design a spiritual formation strategy for the family, and develop the leadership skills necessary to lead in the local church.
    • The Specialization will go through:

  • Missions
    • Missions can come in a variety of forms, such as church ministry, personal connections, and community outreach. To help you build upon your desire to meet the spiritual needs of others, Missions will teach you the skills and preparation strategies required to accomplish this passion.
    • This Specialization will teach you:
      • Missionary Life and Work
      • Global Trends in Missions
      • Intercultural Ministry
  • Pastoral Ministry
    • Pastoral Ministry is a practical degree that will equip you to adapt to many ministry roles and challenges in the field. Whether you are a pastor trying to earn a formal degree or want to enter the ministry field for the first time, Pastoral Ministry will give you the practical ministry training you need.
    • This Specialization will go through:
      • Homiletics
      • Pastoral Leadership
      • Church Planting
  • Worship Arts
    • Whether it is the rhythmic melody or the stirring lyrics, the Worship Arts track will prepare you to be impactful in your churches and in the world for the cause of Christ. You will be walked through it with seasoned professionals with various musical backgrounds from jazz to contemporary to classical.

Global
Students enter our B.A. program from various parts of the world, expanding perspectives and creating a diverse experience for our student body.

Multi-Denominational
Although distinctly evangelical, our students and professors come from diverse backgrounds to provide an enriching environment for classroom discussion, enabling students and professors to learn from each other.

16-Week Format
Our B.A. classes are taught in a traditional 16-week format either on campus or online to allow working students to participate in classes from various parts of the world. The traditional pace allows working students to finish their degree within two years.

ADMISSIONS REQUIREMENTS

The B.A. program admission requirements below must be met before an application is considered complete.

Applicants must submit:

  • Application for admission
  • Submit your Personal Testimony with your application
  • $75 nonrefundable application fee
  • Official transcripts from all institutions the applicant has attended.
    • An official transcript is one that SFBC&TS receives unopened in an envelope sealed by the former institution and that bears the official signature or seal of the High School and previously attended colleges
    • Diploma: All incoming freshmen must possess a valid high school diploma prior to enrollment. Proof of graduation must be provided in the form of a final official transcript indicating the date of graduation
    • Applicants with a GED: Students with a General Equivalency Diploma (GED) from any state must submit official test scores to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. Applicants with a GED should also submit high school transcripts from any schools attended.
  • Recommendation form. The reference letter should serve as a pastoral or ministry reference, outlining program responsibilities, character, and work ethic.
  • Interview. All applicants will undergo an interview to learn more about them and confirm suitability for the B.A. program.

CAREER OPPORTUNITIES

Oversee the youth ministry, guiding the youth in biblical foundations and coordinating a variety of different events for them.

Work with the senior pastor(s) at your church to assist them in organizing events, coordinating daily operations and various activities.

Go out into local or international communities where you will be involved with the daily activities with the locals and evangelizing the gospel to them.

Lead, oversee, and organize the worship team, schedule, and events at a church.

Have the credentials that can lead to becoming a director that oversees and plans the christian education for children and adults alike.

Work in your local church. Operate in the non-profit organization and work in giving back to the community and evangelizing the gospel through your actions.

Become a part of a congregation where you will conduct religious events, worship, and other functions based on the faith or denomination.
