Office of the Chaplain

At South Florida Bible College & Theological Seminary, we believe that spiritual formation is not just an addition to your academic journey—it’s the foundation of a transformed life. The Ministry Formation department, led by the Office of the Chaplain, exists to nurture your walk with Christ as you grow in wisdom, character, and calling.

Whether you’re worshiping in chapel, reflecting in prayer, joining a small group, or reading a devotional, our goal is to help you stay rooted in Jesus and equipped for a life of ministry and mission.

Us

Chapels are a great opportunity to worship with your fellow students and receive spiritually from the faculty you have come to know in the classroom. The focus of chapel is to experience God’s presence and to join together with your peers in praise. Chapels are similar to contemporary church services. They involve a time of worship, led by a varied band, and a sermon presented by some of SFBC’s staff and faculty. Band members are volunteers from among SFBC’s students and staff.

Small-groups are the perfect time to step back from the busyness of life, to seek God’s voice in fellowship with your peers. Small-groups involve a time to read Scripture and to discuss its impact on the participant’s lives. Small-groups follow a theme throughout the semester, and participants receive 5 extra credit points by the conclusion of the small-group. Small-groups are led in pairs by volunteers from SFBC’s students and staff.

Chapel & Worship

Worship Together. Encounter God. Live Anchored.

At South Florida Bible College & Theological Seminary, chapel is more than a weekly tradition—it’s the spiritual rhythm that anchors our community. Rooted in Revelation 7:9–10, our gatherings reflect the beautiful diversity of the global Church, united in praise before the throne of God.

Our Chapel Services are led by faculty, guest speakers, and students, offering biblically grounded messages and Spirit-filled moments of reflection. At the heart of it all is SFBC Worship—a student-led movement under the direction of Jenn Chenoweth, creating space for authentic, multicultural worship that reflects the sound of heaven.

Whether you’re attending a service, joining the band, or simply lifting your hands in praise—this is where we encounter God together.

Prayer & Service

Rooted in Prayer. Formed Through Service.
At SFBC, spiritual formation isn’t limited to the classroom or the chapel—it flows into every part of life. Our on-campus Prayer Room is a sacred space set apart for quiet reflection, intercession, and communion with God. Open throughout the week, it offers a place to pause and draw near to the Lord amid the busyness of academic life.
We also have a vibrant Prayer Team, made up of students, faculty, staff, and even board members—reflecting the unity of our SFBC community. Together, we lead themed prayer initiatives and intercede over the prayer requests submitted through prayer boxes placed around campus.
