While this pursuit is difficult for obtainment, qualified religious scholars are needed to help provide clarification into the truths revealed in scripture. SFBC&TS’s Master of Theology (Th.M.) degree will help you further your career by having the ability to address many of the difficult issues facing our modern society from a Biblical worldview. This Th.M. degree provides you with a well-balanced in person and online education, training you to dig deeper into theology and Christian thought by working to understand ecclesiology and eschatology. This online theology degree encourages cultivating your personal relationship with God for serving your community or target outreach best.

With this flexible & affordable, 100% online or in person degree format, you will take part in an intense study of Theology which is an excellent choice for pastors, educators, and full-time church members wishing to increase their knowledge base while working in the area of ministry. The Th.M. degree focuses on advanced preparation for those called to service in theological education or those planning to pursue degree programs at the doctoral level. Please note that the Master in Theology postgraduate degree requires a Master of Arts in Biblical Studies (MABS) or equivalent for admission. Applicants also should have completed a minimum of one year (6 credit hours) of Koine Greek with the ability to pursue Greek exegesis. If you have a Master of Divinity (M.Div.), you may be able to complete fewer credits in the ThM program.

Goals
Upon completion of the Master of Theology program, the graduate should be able to:
- Demonstrate advanced theological and hermeneutical competence as it relates to theological thinking and biblical studies.
- Exhibit an awareness how socio-cultural contexts shape interpretations of tradition, thought, and practice.
- Demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of the field New Testament studies, including exegetical methods, and apply them to Th.M. research project.
- Demonstrate academic rigor and competence to pursue post-graduate studies at D.Min. and Ph.D. level.
- Demonstrate growth in Christian maturity as it relates to one’s call in teaching or other ministerial pursuits.
- Engage in the Great Conversation.
- Use rhetorical and written tools to defend the Christian Faith

16-Week Format
Our Masters classes are taught in a traditional 16-week format either on campus or online to allow working students to participate in classes from various parts of the world. The traditional pace allows working students to finish their degree within two years.

ADMISSIONS REQUIREMENTS
The Masters program admission requirements below must be met before an application is considered complete.
Applicants must possess:
- A bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
- A minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale. (Provisional admittance may be granted to individuals who do not meet this criteria if competency can be shown.)
- Degree Prerequisite: Student should have obtained a Master of Arts in Biblical Studies degree or its equivalent and completed a minimum of one year (6 credit hours) of Koine Greek with the ability to pursue Greek exegesis.
Applicants must submit:
- Application for admission
- $75 nonrefundable application fee
- Official transcripts from all institutions leading to and awarding the applicant’s bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution and all postbaccalaureate study
- An official transcript is one that SFBC&TS receives unopened in an envelope sealed by the former institution and that bears the official seal of the college or university.
- Recommendation form. The reference letter should serve as a pastoral or ministry reference, outlining program responsibilities, character, and work ethic.
- Interview. All applicants will undergo an interview to learn more about them and confirm suitability for the Masters program.
- Other evidence of potential for leadership the applicant may want to include.
